Prizes await look-alikes for celebrity chef Guy Fieri during an Oct. 29 contest at Guy’s Kitchen & Bar Westmoreland at Live! Casino Pittsburgh in Hempfield.

Faux Fieris

Hey, dudes with the spiky silver hair, goatee, mirror sunglasses and flame shirts — now is your chance to be named the local mayor of Flavortown.

Guy’s Kitchen & Bar Westmoreland at Live! Casino Pittsburgh in Hempfield is hosting a Guy Fieri look-alike contest from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Friday.

We don’t know if you score extra points for rolling up in a cherry red 1968 Chevy Camaro SS convertible.

Prizes for the top three celebrity chef doppelgangers include tickets to the Monster Bash Halloween party that night at the casino. Shut the front door — it’s gonna be a hot Frisbee of fun!

For details, visit Guy Fieri Look Alike Contest on Facebook.

Autumn event

Members and non-members alike can enjoy the Fall Fest from 5-7 p.m. Friday at Greensburg YMCA, 101 S. Maple Ave.

Family-friendly festivities will include autumn-themed crafts and other activities, open swim, facilities tours, music by a DJ, food and treats. Guests can bring swimsuits for a dip in the pumpkin pond and then decorate their picks.

Costumes are welcome, but not required.

For information, visit Greensburg YMCA on Facebook.

Whodunit?

Join a group of eccentric party guests trying to solve the mystery of their host’s murder as the Saint Vincent College Players present the comedy “Clue: On Stage!” at 7:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 2 p.m. Sunday in the Robert S. Carey Student Center Performing Arts Center on the Unity campus.

The play is inspired by the classic Hasbro Inc. board game and the 1985 movie of the same name.

General admission tickets will be available at the center’s box office one hour prior to each show. Cost is $15 or $10 for children 12 and under. Saint Vincent students, faculty, staff and Benedictines enter free with valid ID.

The Humane Society of Westmoreland County’s annual Whisker Walk is Oct. 30 at Twin Lakes Park. Here, Jen Opalsky and Bailey dressed in a “Monsters Inc.” theme for the 2018 fundraiser.

Whisker walk

It’s a chance to get some exercise, have some Halloween fun and raise money for the Humane Society of Westmoreland County.

It’s the annual Whisker Walk, starting with registration at 10 a.m. Saturday at Twin Lakes Park, east of Greensburg. The parade of costumed pets and their owners will begin at 11 a.m.

The $20 registration includes the 2021 Whisker Walk T-shirt, donuts at registration, bagged lunch, Halloween party and chances to win “spook-tacular” prizes. All walkers and teams raising $100 or more will be entered into the grand prize drawing.

Registration is required at 724-837-3779, hswcgbg@aol.com or westmorelandhumanesociety.org.

Haunted history

Every town has a few skeletons in its closet — even the small borough of Scottdale. Explore dark local history during Shadows of Scottdale tours at 7:30 and 9:30 p.m. Saturday, starting at the Geyer Performing Arts Center, 111 Pittsburgh St.

Scottdale Historical Society’s 1-hour guided walking tour features at least eight stops and true tales of murders, robberies, fires and unsolved mysteries — including a murder revealed after a railroad accident, the story of a railroad worker buried beneath the tracks and how 12 homeless men met their untimely demise.

A ticket is $15 plus fees. Reservations are required at scottdalehistoricalsociety.com.
