Phil Vassar strips down
Not literally, of course. But the country musician will take the stage at Irwin’s the Lamp Theatre, 222 Main St., for an 8 p.m. Jan. 10 show.
He’s showcasing his songwriting talent more now than perhaps at any point since his self-titled debut album arrived in 2000.
First, there is a tour that will find Vassar playing in a stripped back format that will allow him to freely interact with audiences and share stories about the songs he performs. Vassar will soon release a new album, “Stripped Down,” that was recorded in fairly minimalist settings.
He’s known for signature hit songs “Carlene,” “Just Another Day in Paradise” and “When I Love You,” among others.
Tickets are $49.

Channeling the ‘Brothers Gibb’
The New York Bee Gees Tribute Show likely will have the audience dancing in their seats during an 8 p.m. Jan. 11 performance at The Palace Theatre, 21 W. Otterman St., Greensburg.
After all, it’s hard to sit still when popular disco music from the ’70s — think “Stayin’ Alive” and “Night Fever” — pop up on the radio or are performed live by this energetic group.
They also perform some of the the Bee Gees’ — brothers Robin, Maurice and Barry — early hits, such as “To Love Somebody” and “I’ve Got to Get A Message to You.”
Tickets range from $25 to $59.50.

Seanor of Belle Vernon and directed by Chris Schaffer; “Nancy McGeever: America’s Worst Door-To-Door Vacuum Salesman,” written by Jared Pascoe of Pittsburgh and directed by Jessie Glover; “Feelings are Weird,” written and directed by Jessica Zack of Uniontown; and “Destiny is a Careless Waiter,” written by Julie Zaffarano of Broomall, Pa., and directed by Dani White.
