Donnie Iris & The Cruisers will slide onto the Palace Theatre stage in Greensburg on Feb. 1.

This weekend you can celebrate women’s contributions to art or make your own, rock to live music and enjoy the sweet soundtrack of a princess and her prince.

This weekend is a full one.

Let’s get started.

The art of women

Jeannette art gallery You Are Here will host “Women’s Work,” a juried exhibition of the work of 16 female artists in a variety of media. Its inspiration grew from the gallery’s Women In Art discussion groups.

The show runs through Feb. 29.

It kicks off with a free public reception from 4 to 6 p.m. Feb. 1 in the gallery at 406 Clay Ave.

If the shoe fits

Stage Right School for the Performing Arts’ students continue Richard Rodgers and Oscar Hammerstein II’s musical version of “Cinderella” this weekend in the Science Hall Theatre, Westmoreland County Community College, Youngwood campus.

The timeless classic tells the tale of Cinderella, her wicked stepmother and sisters, the Prince and the Fairy Godmother. The musical score features favorites including “In My Own Little Corner,” “Ten Minutes Ago” and “Impossible.”

Guests can enjoy an optional Lunch with Cinderella and Friends for an additional charge before the Feb. 1-2 matinee performances. Photo opportunities will be available, and Cinderella and her friends will help guests decorate a special Cinderella craft. Reservations are required by calling 724-832-7464.

Show times are 7 p.m. Jan. 31, 2 p.m. Feb. 1 and 2.

Tickets are $15 for adults, $12 for students.

The group, formed in 2014, brings to the stage a tribute to the music the late Michael Hutchence and band made famous.

Listen for classic radio songs and one-time MTV staples including ”Original Sin,” “Need You Tonight,” “New Sensation,” “What You Need,” “Suicide Blonde” and “Devil Inside.”

Tickets are $22.

King Cool rocks the Palace

Entertaining rock fans for 40 years deserves a celebration, and a celebration will be held at 7:40 p.m. Feb. 1 at Greensburg’s Palace Theatre, with “Donnie Iris & The Cruisers 40th Anniversary.”

For four decades, the local rocker has commanded stages and radio air waves. Among the band’s best-known songs are “Ah! Leah!” “I Can’t Hear You” and “Love Is Like A Rock.”

Special guest for both shows will be another Pittsburgh area rock legend, Joe Grushecky and the Houserockers.

A second show will be held at 7:40 p.m. Feb. 8.

Tickets are $32.40, $47.40 and $77.40.
