Medics, firefighters revive girl, 5, found unresponsive in Mt. Pleasant Township pool
A 5-year-old girl was recovering Monday after being found unresponsive in a Mt. Pleasant Township pool Sunday afternoon, according to Hecla Fire Chief Steve Howell.
The girl was revived at about 2:45 p.m. when CPR was performed by firefighters and medics. She was flown by medical helicopter to UPMC Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh.
“As of today, I knew she was doing well,” Howell said Monday.
The girl did not live at the Armbrust-Hecla Road where she was found unresponsive, he said. Hecla firefighters were assisted by their counterparts from Norvelt. Paramedics responded to the home from Medic 10 in Mt. Pleasant and Norvelt EMS.
“Everything kind of went the way it should,” Howell said.
