A child was flown by medical helicopter and three adults were taken to hospitals following a crash in Adamsburg Wednesday, officials with the Hempfield Township Fire Department said.

The 1-year-old girl was not in a car seat at the time of the crash, according to state police.

A GMC Sierra pickup truck pulled out from Kevin Hunter Automotive on Edna Road just before 3 p.m. into the path of a Ford F-150, troopers said. The two collided and the girl was ejected through the drivers side rear window of the GMC pickup, police said.

She landed in a grassy area about 35 feet away and witnesses immediately called 911. She was flown by medical helicopter to UPMC Children’s Hospital in Pittsburgh. Parents Gabriel Garcia and Leydi Lopez, both 27, of Pittsburgh, were taken by ambulance to AHN Forbes Hospital in Monroeville for treatment of what authorities described as moderate injuries. Police said Garcia was driving.

The Ford driver, Jason J. Miller, 47, of Irwin, was taken by ambulance to Excela Health Westmoreland Hospital.
