A free public screening of a documentary about people living in recovery from an addiction will be held Thursday at The Westmoreland Museum of American Art in Greensburg.
The film — “The Anonymous People” — will be followed by a panel discussion.
The event is being sponsored by the Westmoreland Drug Overdose Task Force’s Recovery Working Group and Recovery Friendly Workplace program. Doors will open at 5:30 p.m. The two-hour presentation will begin at 6.
The panel will consist of two people who are in recovery and Westmoreland County Detective Tony Marcocci. The discussion will be moderated by Eric Kocian, a professor at Saint Vincent College.
“The Anonymous People,” released in 2013, is about the millions of Americans who are living in recovery from a drug or alcohol addiction. The film features legislators, celebrities and others who tell their stories about struggling with addiction in an effort to spread awareness and change perceptions about the disease, according to the film’s website.
