Alleged gunman in holdup at East Huntingdon store jailed on $100K bail
State police on Monday arrested a Scottdale man and accused him of being the alleged gunman in the Dec. 22 holdup of the Dollar General store at Crossroads Plaza in East Huntingdon.
Clyde C. Mensch, 42, was arraigned on charges of robbery, theft, making terroristic threats, receiving stolen property and simple assault before District Judge Charles Moore. He was ordered held in the Westmoreland County Prison after failing to post $100,000 bail.
Mensch also was wanted in Fayette County for allegedly holding up the Honey Bear Sunoco station in Connellsville the same day, according to online court dockets.
On Sunday, troopers arrested William Nathan Lint, 35, and Melissa Ann Youler, 40, both of Connellsville, for participating in the robbery at the Dollar General. The couple allegedly were in the getaway car and assisted in the planning, when Mensch robbed the store around 10 a.m. Dec. 22, Trooper David Wineland wrote in court documents.
The trio fled with $415 and used the money to buy crack cocaine, police reported.
Lint is being held in the county jail on $100,000 bond; Youler is being held on $75,000 bond.
All three have preliminary hearings scheduled before Moore on Jan. 16.
