A detective from the Allegheny County District Attorney’s Office is charged with simple assault and harassment after he allegedly assaulted two women at a local bar.

The women were playing darts Wednesday at Joey’s Edge Bar on Washington Avenue in Export when Raymond Bonacci punched one woman in the mouth and punched the other woman in the side of her head, according to a criminal complaint filed by state police at Kiski Valley.

One woman was injured and knocked unconscious, police said.

Bonacci, 57, whose address is listed as Murrysville, was arraigned on the charges Thursday before Export District Judge Charles Conway. His preliminary hearing is set for Dec. 12.

Bonacci was previously charged with two felony counts of drug delivery in a separate case this year after police claimed he provided testosterone and Adderall to his son when he played high school football. A Westmoreland County district judge dismissed the charges, but the case has been referred to the state Attorney General’s Office.

The AG’s office declined to comment on that case.

This story has been updated to reflect that two women were involved in the alleged assault, not a man and woman.
