A community forum about Alzheimer’s disease is set for Thursday at the Greensburg Hempfield Area Library.

The two-hour forum, hosted by the Alzheimer’s Association, is open to the public and will provide information about the disease, dementia and memory loss as well as a conversation about how to help the community.

Alzheimer’s is the sixth leading cause of death in the United States, according to the association. The number of cases of the costly disease is expected to more than double by 2050. This year, the disease and similar types of dementia will cost the nation $290 billion, according to association statistics.

Registration is required at: https://action.alz.org/mtg/43267452 or 1-800-272-3900. The forum will begin at 2 p.m. The library is located at 237 S. Pennsylvania Ave., Greensburg.
