A 27-year-old man was killed Wednesday afternoon along Route 130 in Donegal Township when his all-terrain vehicle was hit by a Jeep, the Westmoreland County coroner said.

The victim, Joshua H. Torrence, of 33rd Street, Cook Township, was driving the ATV east on Route 130 at about 4:40 p.m. when it was hit by a westbound Jeep that was attempting to make a left turn onto Donegal Lake Road, the coroner said.

Torrence, the only person on the ATV, was thrown from the vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene at 5:45 p.m. He was not wearing a helmet.

The cause and manner of death are pending an autopsy.

The coroner’s office did not identify the driver of the Jeep. State police at Greensburg investigated the crash.

Results of the toxicology tests will not be complete for several weeks.

The McCracken Funeral Home of Ligonier is handling the arrangements.
