A Blairsville woman died Saturday morning when she was ejected from her vehicle in a two-car crash in Derry Township.

Brittany C. Lash, 23, was pronounced dead at 8:30 a.m., the Westmoreland County Coroner’s Office said Sunday night. An autopsy found the cause of death to be blunt force injuries caused by the collision.

Trooper Jason A. Kinger said police, firefighters and emergency medical personnel were dispatched at 7:21 a.m. Saturday morning to the accident at the intersection of Route 217 and Pizza Barn Road.

Police said the young woman was traveling east on Pizza Barn Road in a Chevrolet Blazer when she failed to stop at a stop sign and crashed into a Ford F150 truck that was traveling south on Route 217. Police said she was ejected from her vehicle; she was dead at the scene.

Authorities said the driver of the truck, who was identified only as a 33-year-old Latrobe man, suffered minor injuries and was taken to Forbes Hospital in Monroeville for further evaluation.

Police said neither driver was wearing a seat belt.
