A 17-year-old boy was charged as a juvenile after state police said he made threats on social media.

The threats were posted in a Snapchat group chat. They were directed toward two female students, ages 16 and 15, and Greater Latrobe Junior High School, troopers said in a news release. A school resource officer at the Unity building off Arnold Palmer Drive reported the threats to state police on Feb. 20.

Terroristic threats charges were filed against the boy, police said. It was unclear if he was a student.

“There are no ongoing safety concerns for Greater Latrobe Junior High School,” troopers said in the release.
