A Braddock woman is charged with attempted homicide after state police said she fired a gun at her boyfriend’s vehicle while both were traveling on Route 30 in Unity, according to court papers.

The man was not hurt.

The shooting stemmed from an argument Markale D. Younger, 27, had with her boyfriend overnight between Wednesday and Thursday at his home off Route 30 near the Beatty Crossroads area. The man asked Younger to leave and then he went to a convenience store, troopers said in court papers.

When he returned home, the man told police he saw a white pickup truck there and instead continued on Route 30 eastbound because he believed it was an associate of Younger, according to court papers. The white pickup pulled onto the highway in the same direction and the man reported hearing a popping sound.

Witnesses told investigators they heard the pair arguing and later saw the white pickup at the man’s home. The witnesses reported seeing Younger out hanging out of the passenger side window with a gun in her hand when they heard a shot fired, according to court papers.

The bullet hole on the driver’s side door frame was found the following morning, police said. Troopers recovered the bullet from the cab.

“The location in which the vehicle was struck by the bullet is in close proximity to where the victim was seated during this incident,” police wrote in court papers.

A warrant has been issued for Younger’s arrest. She is charged with attempted homicide, aggravated assault, simple assault, reckless endangerment and a weapons violation. Anyone with information on her whereabouts is asked to call 911.

Younger was ordered to relinquish all firearms as part of a two-year probation sentence on domestic violence charges filed by Pittsburgh Police in connection with a July 2021 incident, according to online court records.
