Business owner will appeal nixed North Huntingdon zoning request
The North Huntingdon commissioners have rejected a request to change the zoning classification on a one-acre parcel at the corner of Longview Drive and Robbins Station Road from residential to commercial to permit a concrete and landscaping company to use the property.
Property owner Emily Tromm said her husband’s business, AB Concrete & Landscaping LLC, would use the property for its vehicles and equipment, including a skid loader, dump truck and excavator. They would install screening and a soundproofing wall similar to that used along the Pennsylvania Turnpike. The business currently is located in Sewickley Township, according to its website.
They would want to have a storefront on the property that would have concrete samples, Tromm said.
A house on the property had been used for as an office for Gongaware & Parry Florist & Greenhouses for about 50 years. That was a non-conforming use that would revert back to residential unless a change is approved.
Tromm plans to appeal the decision, she said.
