An car cruise fundraiser is set for July 28 at Youngwood Park N Pool.
Pool board president Ed Christofano said past events have raised $7,000 in donations to keep the facility in operation.
The Hayden’s Pharmacy Car Cruise will be held from noon to 4 p.m. Vehicles can participate for $5 each or a donation. The first 50 entries will get a commemorative plaque. General admission to the cruise is free.
A pizza eating contest will be held at 2 p.m. Ten people will be able to enter for a suggested donation of $10 each. Competitors must be over 18 and can start signing up at 9 a.m.
The pool celebrated its 60th anniversary in 2021 and has undergone major renovations recently. It is managed by volunteers.
There will be awards for car cruise participants as well as entertainment, food, drinks and raffles. The facility is at 801 S. 10th St.
