Surveillance images show suspect in burglary on Monday at the Aldi store in East Huntingdon.

State police are looking for a man caught on camera burglarizing an Aldi grocery store early Monday in East Huntingdon.

According to police, the suspect broke into the store office at about 2 a.m. and made off with five black metal till drawers containing an unspecified amount of cash and coins.

He initially tried to break into the building by cutting a hole in the roof and then smashed the office window with what appeared to be a pry bar, police said.

When employees arrived to open the store, they found the front doors had been pried open, according to police.

The suspect, who had his face covered with a white bandana, was wearing a black T-shirt and shoes and blue jeans. He was carrying a blue backpack and had a light blue watch on his left wrist.

Anyone with information about the suspect is asked to contact state police at the Greensburg station, at 724-832-3288, or the state police tips line, 1-800-472-8477.

Additional details weren’t immediately available from police or Aldi.

The store’s regular hours are 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. daily, according to its website.
