A former area woman is accused of providing a fatal dose of fentanyl-laced heroin that killed a Unity man in 2015, according to court papers.

Caitlin Nicole Brown, 27, was charged in October 2017 with drug delivery resulting in death and related offenses. She was extradited to Pennsylvania last week. State police on Tuesday said she had been arrested in another state for an unrelated matter.

Court papers filed in 2017 listed her residence as Los Angeles. Online court records now list a Lower Burrell address.

On Nov. 3, 2015, police found Richard Govora, 25, dead inside a Donohoe Road home, according to court papers. Brown told investigators that she and Govora got heroin from a man in Pittsburgh with the help of one of her high school friends.

They bought 15 bags of heroin for $140, and Brown told police she gave her friend three bags for the ride to the dealer, according to court papers. Brown and Govora started using the drugs and, when she awoke later at Govora’s home, he was lying unresponsive by the front door.

Some of the bags were marked “Do Not Enter” and others were stamped “Game Over,” police said. A stamp bag that was submitted to the state police crime laboratory showed it contained fentanyl. Govora’s death was attributed to a heroin and fentanyl overdose, police said.

Govora was working as a journeyman carpenter and doing electrical work, according to his obituary. He earned his second degree black belt in taekwondo about two years before his death and became an instructor. Family members described him as an excellent ballroom dancer, enthusiastic sports fan and an animal lover.

Brown was being held in the Westmoreland County Prison on $50,000 bail. She did not have an attorney listed in online court papers. A Feb. 3 preliminary hearing is set.
