A former employee at a Greensburg service station was accused by city police this week of stealing money from the cash register on three consecutive days she worked in November.

Taylor M. Hurt, 21, is charged with theft and receiving stolen property in connection with the thefts that occurred Nov. 1-3 at Sunoco A-Plus on Mt. Pleasant Street.

Patrolman Jason Dieter reported that Hurt “would ring up returns on cigarettes and then cash out putting the money in her pockets.”

Dieter said about $1,330 was stolen during the three shifts. He said Hurt admitted the thefts in an interview.

The thefts were captured on store surveillance, according to court records.

A preliminary hearing is scheduled Monday.
