A 71-year-old Hempfield man was ordered held in the Westmoreland County Prison on $25,000 bond after his arrest by state police for allegedly sexually assaulting a girl on multiple occasions over two years.

Frank J. Celesnik was charged with aggravated indecent assault, aggravated assault on a child under 13 years old and two counts of indecent assault filed Friday by state police before District Judge Mark Mansour after an abuse complaint was forwarded to a North Huntingdon child advocacy organization this fall.

The complaint was initially investigated by the Child’s Place Child Advocacy Center, a private, non-profit organization that assists in investigations of child abuse, Trooper Evan Terek reported.

Terek said that after the girl was interviewed, he questioned Celesnik, who admitted the sexual assaults dating back to 2016.

Celesnik was arraigned Friday before Mansour. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Dec. 20.
