An anonymous complaint to a statewide child abuse hotline led to charges being filed against a Greensburg woman.

Detective Sgt. John Swank charged Amarette L. White, 39, with child endangerment and simple assault after interviewing her and the alleged teen victim.

Swank reported in court papers that police received a complaint through ChildLine PA, a state child abuse reporting system, that a person suspected the teen was being physically assaulted by White.

In an interview Tuesday, Swank said the teen told police that she did not “like to be around White.”

In an interview Wednesday with Swank and patrolman Justin Scalzo, Swank reported in court documents that White admitted assaulting the teen.

White could not be reached for comment and an attorney was not listed in court papers. A preliminary hearing is scheduled Sept. 26 before District Judge Chris Flanigan.
