A 32-year-old man was ordered held in the Westmoreland County Prison on $10,000 bond on charges of harassing and physically assaulting a Youngwood woman twice in seven hours Sunday and early Monday, state police said.
Nicholas A. Cole of Latrobe was arrested on multiple criminal charges of harassment and simple assault filed by state troopers after the alleged assaults about 6:30 p.m. Sunday and 1:30 a.m. Monday.
Trooper Christopher Mazujian said the woman said Cole and she began arguing during the first incident when the 6-foot 2-inch, 180 pound Cole allegedly physically assaulted her inside her apartment along North Fourth Street.
Troopers said the woman suffered multiple bruises to her face, neck and lower torso “when Cole grabbed her off the couch by her shirt and slammed her to the ground.”
Police said the woman was able to flee the apartment, but returned later. Another altercation took place and she was able to break free and run to a nearby apartment where she telephoned police. Mazujian said the woman had multiple injuries from the assaults.
Cole was arraigned before Washington Township District Judge Jason Buczak and ordered held in the county prison after failing to post $10,000 bond pending a hearing before Hempfield District Judge Tony Bompiani.
