Coroner IDs woman killed in Trafford car crash

The Westmoreland County Coroner’s office identified a Trafford woman who was killed in a car crash in the borough this week.

Elizabeth E. Hufnagel, 87, was pronounced dead at the scene by Deputy Coroner Steven Grabiak.

According to the coroner’s report, Hufnagel was the passenger of a 2018 Subaru Legacy that was traveling south on Belleau Wood Boulevard about 5:40 p.m. Wednesday. According to the report, the vehicle left the road, traveled through a yard and hit a tree.

The condition of the driver, who was not identified, was not provided.

The cause and manner of death are pending.

Trafford police are investigating.
