A Westmoreland County Public Works employee carries a “Road closed ahead” sign near the scene at Lenity School Road in Rostraver on Friday.

Westmoreland County detectives and Rostraver police are investigating what is now being called a homicide.

County Coroner Tim Carson said the body of Jennah Marie Seibert of Rostraver was discovered inside a home in the 400 block of Lenity School Road in the township shortly after noon Friday.

Police secured a search warrant and entered the residence about 12:15 p.m. before contacting the coroner’s office.

Lenity School Road was closed as police continued to investigate and the public was being asked to avoid the area.

Authorities initially called the woman’s death “suspicious.”

Melanie Jones, spokeswoman for the Westmoreland County District Attorney’s Office, late Friday via email said Seibert had been shot, and her death is being investigated as a homicide.

No arrests had been made as of Friday night, according to the district attorney’s office.

Seibert was the director of talent acquisition at The Cotter Group, according to her LinkedIn page. She had previously worked as a staffing specialist and director of talent acquisition for USA Staffing Solutions.

Seibert had a bachelor’s and master’s of business administration from the University of Pittsburgh.

The Cotter Group announced her hiring via Facebook in early February. A message to the company was not returned.

Police deployed a drone over the area just before 2 p.m.

The road remained closed as of 9:20 p.m. Friday.
