A Monessen woman who became unresponsive at the Westmoreland County Prison in November died of natural causes, according to the county coroner’s office.

Ashlee Jackson, 35, died Nov. 25 at Excela Health Westmoreland Hospital, two days after she was found unresponsive in her cell. She had a medical condition, according to the coroner’s office.

The district attorney’s office and prison officials investigated her death.

Jackson was found during a regular check by corrections officers, jail officials have said. She had been committed to the jail on Nov. 22 on four bench warrants and a new criminal complaint.

She is survived by two children, her parents and other relatives, according to her obituary.
