Covid claims life of Yough School Board member

A Yough School Board member and longtime Herminie business owner who had contracted covid, died last week.

Sandy Mireles-Dull, 68, who was elected to the school board in November 2019, died Dec. 30, at Excela Westmoreland Hospital, Greensburg. She had been struggling with covid for a month, according to her obituary.

Mireles-Dull was owner of Sandy’s Barber Shop in Herminie, for the past 35 years. She was president of the Sewickley Township Business and Civic Association and co-founder of Beloved Youth of Our Community. She was also a past member of Sewickley Township Crime Watch, Yough Youth Commission and the Sewickley Township Recreation Board.

Funeral arrangements were being handled by the Joseph Nickels Funeral Home, Herminie.
