Route 30 has reopened to traffic after a head-on crash Friday morning shut down the road’s westbound lanes and one eastbound lane near Arnold Palmer Regional Airport.

Traffic was flowing again in both directions by 9 a.m., three hours after the multi-vehicle crash closed sections of the highway in Unity, according to Westmoreland County 911 dispatchers and TribLive news partner WTAE.

The crash occurred near Route 30’s intersection with Wimmerton Boulevard, about two miles from the airport’s main entrance.

Westmoreland County 911 dispatchers have said motorists appear to be trapped in at least two vehicles. It is unclear if first responders have taken anyone to the hospital.

Pennsylvania State Police and emergency response officials in Westmoreland County have not returned calls seeking comment.
