Cyclist taken to local trauma center with injuries sustained in accident in Export

Authorities are investigating an accident at the intersection of Durabond Lane and Old William Penn Highway in Export that sent a bicyclist to a local trauma center Thursday evening.

According to Westmoreland County Emergency Management, a driver struck the cyclist at approximately 6:53 p.m. Thursday.

The Export Volunteer Fire Department, State Police from the Kiski Valley station and Murrysville Police responded to the call.

The cyclist was transported to the Forbes Regional Hospital Trauma Center in Monroeville.

No additional information was immediately available Thursday night.
