Eric Davanzo, the Republican candidate for the vacant state House seat in the 58th District, announced Wednesday he received a series of endorsements leading up to the March 17 special election.

Davanzo, 53, said he received endorsements from the Pennsylvania State Troopers Association; the Fraternal Order of Police, Frank J. Kelly Local 62; Pennsylvania Pro-Life Federation; Firearms Owners Against Crime; The Eastern Atlantic States Regional Council of Carpenters Union Local 432; and the Laborers District Council of Western Pennsylvania.

Davanzo, a union carpenter from South Huntingdon, is seeking to complete the term of former Republican state Rep. Justin Walsh, who resigned in January after assuming a judicial seat on the Westmoreland County Court of Common Pleas.

Democrat Robert Prah, 38, of Rostraver and Libertarian Ken Bach, 52, of South Huntingdon are running against Davanzo.

The district includes Adamsburg, Arona, East Huntingdon, parts of Hempfield, Jeannette, Madison, Monessen, Mt. Pleasant, North Belle Vernon, Penn Borough, Rostraver, Sewickley, Smithton, South Huntingdon, Sutersville and West Newton.
