State police investigate the discovery of a deceased man along the Five Star Trail in Youngwood on Thursday, March 26, 2020.

State police are investigating the discovery of a man’s body along the Five Star Trail behind the Shop ‘n Save supermarket in Youngwood Thursday afternoon.

The man was discovered at about 3 p.m., and the Westmoreland County Coroner’s office was called to the scene, according to a Westmoreland County Department of Public safety supervisor.

The man was found on a bench and a woman walking along the trail called Westmoreland County 911 to alert authorities, said Youngwood Fire Chief Lloyd Crago.

Additional details were not available.
