A search warrant for a Valley Streams apartment in Delmont turned up more than 100 grams of marijuana along with THC vapor cartridges, THC "wax" and more on Oct. 21, 2021.

A 21-year-old Delmont man faces drug charges after police said a search of his apartment turned up more than 3 1/2 ounces of marijuana, 60 grams of THC vapor cartridges and more than 2 1/2 ounces of marijuana “wax.”

Delmont Police Chief T.J. Klobucar said his department had been contacted over the summer by residents and management about drug activity at the Valley Stream apartment complex on Old William Penn Highway.

“We’d gotten numerous complaints of smelling it in the complex and we were constantly down there,” Klobucar said.

After opening an investigation, performing several weeks of surveillance and making controlled purchases of marijuana, a search warrant was obtained for a unit in Valley Stream’s 101 building, belonging to David Michael Clarke, 21.

Klobucar said the warrant was served Oct. 21 by Delmont police and agents from the Attorney General’s Drug Task Force, who found 101 grams of marijuana, 79 grams of marijuana “wax,” 60 grams of THC liquid in vaping cartridges, more than $2,600 in cash, scales and other packaging materials.

Clarke was charged with drug possession, possession with intent to distribute and drug paraphernalia. He faces a Dec. 21 hearing.

Klobucar said that while investigations such as this can take some time, “we’re always aware of what’s going on.”

“Just keep calling 911 and getting information to us,” he advised residents. “It can’t always happen right away, but we’re always working to keep borough residents safe and respond to their concerns.”
