A man suspected of passing a counterfeit $20 bill at a gas station convenience store turned himself in to Delmont Police.

Police said the man entered the Sunoco on the 2300 block of Route 66 at 6:15 a.m. Aug. 24 and went to the counter to pay for merchandise.

“He handed the clerk the fake bill, but when he saw her start to question it he ran out of the store with the merchandise,” said police Chief T.J. Klobucar.

The man turned himself in to Delmont Police on Wednesday.

“We appreciate the public’s help, and charges are pending,” Klobucar said.
