Derry police are investigating a crash involving one of their own vehicles.

Westmoreland County dispatchers said a police cruiser was involved in a crash in which someone was trapped in the wreckage.

It happened shortly before 8:30 p.m. Friday near the intersection of West Second Avenue and Y Street.

No injuries were reported and the scene was cleared around 9 p.m., dispatchers said.

A call to Derry police was not immediately returned.
