Nineteen students were on a Hempfield school bus involved in a crash Friday afternoon that sent the drivers of the bus and a Penske box truck to the hospital, according to New Stanton fire Chief Rob Cammarata.

Officials responded to Pine Drive in New Stanton near the Timber Ridge Apartments shortly after 3 p.m. to reports of the bus and truck colliding, according to a Westmoreland 911 dispatcher.

No students were injured in the crash.

The driver of the truck was transported to Forbes Regional Hospital in Monroeville while the driver of the school bus was taken to Excela Health in Westmoreland. Both had minor injuries, Cammarata said.

Another school bus came to take the students home.
