A former custodian and janitor at the Mt. Pleasant Area School District will serve at least eight years in prison after being sentenced this week for repeated sexual assaults of a child over a 10-year period.

Jeffrey D. Miller Jr., 50, of East Huntingdon was charged last year with eight felony counts including rape, involuntary deviate sexual intercourse aggravated indecent assault and other related offenses in connection with allegations made by his accuser.

The victim told police Miller forced her to have sex for over a decade starting when she was just 5, according to court records.

Westmoreland County Common Pleas Court Judge Scott Mears sentenced Miller as part of a plea deal approved this week. The judge ordered Miller to serve eight to 20 years in prison and an additional five years on probation.
