The new Excela Health chief executive officer will discuss the challenges facing Westmoreland County’s hospitals and health care during the Economic Growth Connection of Westmoreland’s annual membership luncheon on Feb. 20 at Saint Vincent College near Latrobe.

John Sphon was appointed CEO in December, after serving as interim CEO since April 2019. He succeeded Robert Rogalski, who left the three-hospital health system in early April 2019.

Sphon is on the board of directors of the Economic Growth Connection, which is headed by James Smith.

The lunch at the Fred Rogers Center on the Saint Vincent campus is at 11:30 a.m., with the program beginning at noon.

Tickets are $30 per person and available through the Economic Growth Connection website at www.egcw.org or by contacting Janet Foster at 724-830-3604 or jfoster@egcw.org.
