A 44-year-old woman was killed in a one-vehicle crash in New Stanton early Thursday, according to the Westmoreland County Coroner’s office.

Deputy Coroner Sean Hribal pronounced Susan M. Clawson of Uniontown dead at the scene of the 1 a.m. crash in the roundabout off Rachel Drive, the coroner’s office reported.

The vicinity of Rachel Drive and Bair Avenue was closed to traffic until approximately 5 a.m. for the state police accident reconstruction team to investigate, authorities said.

The office said an autopsy will be performed later today.

The coroner’s office said one other person was in the car at the time of the crash.

A state police report on the crash was not yet available.
