PennDOT will repair two Hempfield bridges along Route 30 in 2023.

PennDOT is seeking the public’s input on the Route 30 Bridge Preservation Project that will replace worn and damaged expansion dams on two Hempfield bridges along Route 30.

The project, which is slated to begin in September, aims to extend the life of the structures.

One bridge, near Hempfield’s Target and Home Depot, takes drivers over Route 66. The other carries drivers over Tollgate Hill Road and West Pittsburgh Street right outside the Greensburg city limits.

PennDOT will replace the bridge deck seals and repair drainage inlets, concrete and more.

Both bridges will remain open with lane closures during construction, which is supposed to end in November.

Those who wish to share input on the project should do so on PennDOT’s website through Jan. 18.

Anyone unable to access the online form can contact Project Manager James Wolfe at jameswolfe@pa.gov or 724-430-442.
