Feeding the Spirit and YWCA Westmoreland County are teaming up to raise money for people facing food insecurity.

The two Greensburg-based organizations will host the “Pay-it-Forward Chili Challenge” from noon to 2 p.m. on Feb. 2 at Greensburg Hose Co. No. 2, 137 N. Pennsylvania Ave.

Attendees will be able to sample several chili recipes created by local restaurants — including 3 Stone Merchant, The Boulevard, Family Fixin’s, The Headkeeper, Hoss’s, Jaffre’s, J. Corks, Marinades Grill, Marino’s Family Eatery and Morelands at Waterworks.

Those attending can vote for best overall, most original and hottest. The winner will be announced during the event.

There will be a basket raffle and live music by Western Pennsylvania acoustic guitar duo Mr. Jones and the Diva.

Admission is $10 for an adult and $5 for children ages 10 and younger.

To pay for the meal of a local resident in need, admission is $20.

All proceeds will support Feeding the Spirit and YWCA Westmoreland County.
