A sentencing date for a former Greensburg police officer accused in a drug case has been pushed back to February.

The attorney for Regina McAtee, 51, of New Kensington requested more time to prepare for the hearing in documents filed in federal court this week. McAtee had been scheduled for sentencing Aug. 22. The new date is Feb 19.

She pleaded guilty in May to conspiracy to distribute and possess with intent to distribute methamphetamine for violations between November 2020 and January 2023.

Prosecutors said she conspired with former Greensburg police chief Shawn Denning, 43, of Delmont to order and pay for drugs from suppliers online. Pills they ordered that contained methamphetamine were shipped to McAtee’s home, and she made Cash App payments to the online suppliers, investigators said.

McAtee was suspended without pay for five months in early 2023 and retired later that year. As of August, McAtee has received her pension payment each month since she retired.

Denning is awaiting sentencing Dec. 18 for his role in the case. He pleaded guilty in April to conspiracy to distribute drugs. He was arrested by federal investigators in January 2023 at Greensburg City Hall and resigned afterward.
