Franklin Regional Middle School students create virtual tribute to veterans
The Franklin Regional Middle School Performing Arts Veterans Day performance will look quite a bit different this year.
“We couldn’t invite the local veterans to participate, nor could we include the student body to honor them,” said middle school teacher Bruce Palmiscno.
And while this year’s assembly is still entirely student-driven, it is also entirely virtual.
“(They) created a video compilation of speeches, monologues, musical and theatrical performances to share with the community to recognize all veterans on their day of honor,” said Newlonsburg Elementary Principal and district Communications Director Tina Gillen.
Students from the performing arts class, working in small groups, created, directed and produced each performance. Students learning remotely were also able to participate by creating their segments outside of school, Palmiscno said.
