Franklin Regional School District will hold a two-phase graduation ceremony for outgoing seniors Friday evening.

Franklin Regional seniors will get an opportunity to walk onto the Panther Stadium field as part of a two-phase graduation ceremony set for Friday evening in Murrysville.

The first ceremony, scheduled to start at 5 p.m., will be for students whose last name begins with A through K. A second ceremony, starting at 7:30 p.m., will be for those whose last names begin with L through Z.

Both ceremonies will be streamed live via the Westmoreland Sports Network.

Students are permitted two guests, who will remain in self-chosen seats throughout the ceremony. Six-foot social distancing and face masks or shields will be required to the maximum extent possible, the district said. Families also will receive mailed packets with detailed information about the ceremonies, and color-coded parking passes with their graduate’s name that will indicate where they can park.

The campus will be closed to all vehicles other than graduates, ticketed guests and district staff.

If any graduate or guest is experiencing covid-19 symptoms, they are asked not to attend.

Graduates and guests are asked to exit the parking areas promptly following the first ceremony so staff can adequately prepare for the second.

In case of inclement weather, the ceremonies will take place on Saturday evening.
