Free cancer screening at Allegheny Health Network facility in Hempfield

A free cancer screening event at Allegheny Health Network’s Hempfield cancer center will be held Aug. 19.

The screening is open to the public and no health insurance is required. Registration for the event closes Aug. 11. Reservations can be made by calling 412-359-6665.

Screenings for various types of cancer will include: breast for people 40 and older, cervical with a pelvic exam and Pap smear for people 21 to 65, colorectal for people 45 and older, head and neck for people 18 and older, prostate for people 45 and older, skin for anyone 18 and older and lung for those with a history of smoking between 50 and 80.

The number of screenings is unlimited for participants, based on their qualification. The hospital’s cancer institute is at 6321 Route 30.
