The new GetGo fuel station and convenience store, near the Murrysville Giant Eagle on Old William Penn Highway, will host a grand opening on Friday.

A new GetGo fuel station and convenience store will host a grand opening Friday afternoon in Murrysville.

The station, located between Old William Penn Highway and Route 22 near the Murrysville Giant Eagle, will hold a 2:30 p.m. ribbon-cutting and officials will make a $5,000 donation to the Franklin Regional Panther Foundation, a nonprofit that raises money to provide additional educational opportunities and programming for Franklin Regional students.

Guests visiting throughout the weekend can register for GetGo’s gift card giveaway and to win a Penguins prize pack between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. on Friday and Saturday. More than $3,500 in gift cards will be given away, and the Penguins prize pack includes a pair of game tickets, a puck signed by Evgeni Malkin and a ticket to the opening of the GetGo concession at PPG Paints Arena.

The first 100 guests beginning at 9 a.m. Friday will receive $10 GetGo gift cards, and free self-serve small coffees will be available all weekend.

The grand opening will feature appearances by Penguins’ mascot Iceburgh, and GetGo’s new mascot, Lil’ Tot.

A spiked-slushie happy hour will take place from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Friday and Saturday.

The 24-hour GetGo Cafe+Market features a dozen gas pumps and a wide selection of beer.

It is at 4806 William Penn Highway in Murrysville.
