Customers who frequent the Chick-fil-A restaurant at Greengate Centre will have to find a new location to get their chicken sandwich and waffle fry fix when the Hempfield location undergoes renovations later this month.

The restaurant will close July 28 as a second drive-thru lane with permanent canopies for ordering and deliveries are constructed. The closure will last through mid-October.

“We are changing our kitchen setup and enlarging our drive-thru to make it faster and more convenient for people,” said owner Lorie Untch.

Renovations were approved by Hempfield supervisors in January.

Other Chick-fil-A sites in the area include Hempfield’s Eastgate Plaza near Westmoreland Mall and along William Penn Highway in Monroeville.

“While we will miss serving guests during our closure, we are so excited about the new features and improved design that will allow us to better serve everyone when we reopen,” said a Facebook post announcing the renovations.
