Lisa Slavnik, 48, of Greensburg was reported missing on Monday morning.

A Greensburg woman has returned home after being missing for nearly two days, according to Police Chief Charles Irvin.

Lisa Slavnik, 48, returned home Tuesday night. Irvin said she appeared to be safe. Police would not release any other details.

No one answered the door at Slavnik’s house Wednesday morning.

Police and others spent hours on Monday searching for Slavnik around Greensburg. Authorities continued on Tuesday looking for surveillance footage from homes and businesses and following up on tips from the public.

Slavnik reportedly had sustained a head injury Sunday evening, police said. She went to sleep and was last seen around 10:30 p.m. Sunday at her home in the 200 block of Grant Street. She was reported missing Monday morning by her children who were concerned for her well being.

A grid search was conducted Monday by about 100 people from numerous local agencies, mostly volunteers. Police called in the Greensburg Bloodhound Team to look in the area of Lynch Field early in the day. After that search was unsuccessful, police summoned additional help and expanded the search area. State police assisted in a helicopter and a couple agencies used drones.

Flyers were posted on Main Street.

“We extend our sincere gratitude to all assisting agencies, volunteers and members of the public who remained alert and shared helpful information during this time,” Irvin said in a statement. “The department especially thanks the Slavnik family for their cooperation and assistance throughout the investigation.”
