A Greensburg man was arrested Thursday on rape charges.

Shamon M. Jackson, 23, was being held on $100,000 bail at the Westmoreland County Prison. Jeannette police spoke with the accuser early Jan. 27 at Westmoreland Hospital, according to court papers.

She told authorities she was visiting a friend in Jeannette the night before when Jackson, who also was there visiting a friend, dragged her into a bathroom and raped her. Jackson denied the accusations, police said.

A witness told police she saw the pair go into the bathroom and Jackson come out and slam the door, according to court papers. The accuser was upset when she came out and she and the witness went to the hospital around 3:30 a.m. for a sexual assault examination.

Jackson did not have an attorney listed in online court records. A preliminary hearing is set for Feb. 22.
