Greensburg man sent to prison for exposing himself to a woman
A Greensburg man will serve up to three years in prison for exposing himself to a woman in his home.
James W. Sanders, 36, formerly of Latrobe, pleaded guilty Tuesday to four misdemeanor offenses in connection with an incident last April 3.
According to court records, police said Sanders lured a woman to his home under the guise of helping to care for his baby. When the woman arrived, she found Sanders naked and seeking a sexual encounter.
Police said Sanders’ girlfriend was upstairs at the time having sex with another man.
The victim claimed Sanders initially refused to let her leave and forced her into an embrace while still naked.
Sanders pleaded guilty to charges of indecent assault by forcible compulsion, indecent assault, false imprisonment and open lewdness. Westmoreland County Common Pleas Court Judge Tim Krieger sentenced him to terms of a negotiated plea bargain that included a mitigated prison sentence. Evidence issues played a role in the reduced sentence, Assistant District Attorney Jim Lazar said.
Krieger ordered Sanders serve one-to-three years in prison and an additional three years on probation. He was given credit for the time served since his arrest. Sanders will have a lifetime requirement to register as a sex offender.
