An outreach event Friday will bring dozens of resource agencies around Westmoreland County and the region — along with free coronavirus vaccines — together in one spot.

The Community Agencies Resource Exchange event in Greensburg will host more than 60 organizations that provide services to families and people in need. The event will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday at 1037 Compass Circle, off of Roseytown Road.

The family-friendly C.A.R.E. Community Event will feature food trucks, activities, free shaved ice, crafts, a magician and raffles. It will be “one-stop shopping for just about any resources that you could possibly need,” said Kelley Lord, outreach coordinator and clinical supervisor at the Greensburg MedMark Treatment Center, which is sponsoring the event with Clear Day Treatment Center.

“This event is important to me because it does not just focus on addiction and recovery issues, this is for any and all people in the community to learn about the programs that are available to them,” Lord said.

Participating agencies include: Blackburn Center, Dads Matter, Excela Health, Gateway Rehab, Laurel Legal Services, PA CareerLink, Private Industry Council, Sage’s Army, United Healthcare, United Way, Westmoreland Community Action, Westmoreland County Food Bank, Westmoreland Intermediate Unit and Westmoreland Transit along with numerous county departments, such as behavioral health, juvenile probation and public safety.

There will be groups that focus on treatment and counseling as well as others that work with children and those with disabilities.

Community Health Clinic will be doing coronavirus vaccines on site.
