Greensburg Salem School District’s three elementary schools are closed this week after three faculty members tested positive for coronavirus, according to Superintendent Gary Peiffer.

Classes at Amos K. Hutchinson, James H Metzgar and Dr. Robert F. Nicely elementary schools will be conducted remotely through Friday.

In addition to the three staff members who tested positive, several others are quarantining, according to Peiffer.

Parents are encouraged to contact their children’s teachers and principals more information about remote classes and assignments.

This is the second closure for Metzgar Elementary School, which shut down Oct. 12-16 after three students tested positive for the virus.
