It’s time to prepare for the most wonderful time of the year.

Greensburg is looking for bands and organizations to participate in the city’s 28th annual Holiday Parade, which will take place Nov. 23. Recreation program Manager Lydia Kinkaid said the city hopes to see plenty of participants sign up — whether they’ve been marching down Main Street for years or want to take part for the first time.

Organizations can march or have a float.

“We just ask that it’s holiday theme, and that they refrain from having a Santa with their group or on their float, because we like to save that until the very end,” Kinkaid said.

Santa Claus usually makes his appearance as the parade’s finale.

The parade often draws about 8,000 spectators.

Interested participants can find the registration form on the Parks and Recreation page at

Participants must register by Nov. 5.
